Happy Valentine's Day

To My Friends Who Are...........SINGLE
Love is like a butterfly. The more you chase it, the more it eludes you. But if you just let it fly, it will come to you when you least expect it. Love can make you happy but often it hurts, but love's only special when you give it to someone who is really worth it. So take your time and choose the best.

To My Friends Who Are............NOT SO SINGLE
Love isn't about becoming somebody else's 'perfect person.' It's about finding someone who helps you become the best person you can be.

To My Friends Who Are............PLAYBOY/GIRL TYPE
Never say 'I love you' if you don't care. Never talk about feelings if theyaren't there. Never touch a life if you mean to break a heart. Never look in the eye when all you do is lie. The cruelest thing a guy can do to a girl is to let her fall in love when he doesn't intend to catch her fall and it works both ways...

To My Friends Who Are............MARRIED
Love is not about 'it's your fault', but 'I'm sorry.' Not 'where are you', but 'I'm right here.' Not 'how could you', but 'I understand.' Not 'I wish you were', but 'I'm thankful you are.'
To My Friends Who Are............ENGAGED The true measure of compatibility is not the years spent together but how good you are for each other.

To My Friends Who Are............HEARTBROKEN
Heartbreaks last as long as you want and cut as deep as you allow them to go. The challenge is not how to survive heartbreaks but to learn from them.

To My Friends Who Are............NAIVE
How to be in love: Fall but don't stumble, be consistent but not too persistent, share and never be unfair, understand and try not to demand, and get hurt but never keep the pain.

To My Friends Who Are............POSSESSIVE
It breaks your heart to see the one you love happy with someone else but
it's more painful to know that the one you love is unhappy with you.

To My Friends Who Are............AFRAID TO CONFESS
Love hurts when you break up with someone. It hurts even more when someone breaks up with you. But love hurts the most when the person you love has no idea how you feel.

To My Friends Who Are............STILL HOLDING ON
A sad thing about life is when you meet someone and fall in love, only to
find out in the end that it was never meant to be and that you have wasted years on someone who wasn't worth it. If he isn't worth it now he's not
'going to be worth it a year or 10 years from now Let go.....

TO ALL MY FRIENDS.......
My wish for you is a man/women whose love is honest, strong, mature,
never-changing, uplifting, protective, encouraging, rewarding and unselfish.

"Importance of having Breakfast"

Breakfast can help prevent strokes, heart attack and sudden death. Advice on not to skip breakfast! Healthy living For those who always skip breakfast, you should stop that habit now! You've heard many times that "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day." Now, recent research confirms that one of the worst practices you can develop may be avoiding breakfast. Why? Because the frequency of heart attack, sudden death, and stroke peaks between 6:00a.m. and noon, with the highest incidence being between 8: 00a.m. and 10:00a.m.What mechanism within the body could account for this significant jump in sudden death in the earlymorning hours? We may have an Answer.Platelet, tiny elements in the blood that keep us from bleeding to Death if we get a cut, can clump together inside our arteries due to cholesterol or laque buildup in the artery lining. It is in the morning hours that platelets become the most activated and tend to form these internal blood clots at the greatest frequency. However, eating even a very light breakfast prevents the morning platelet activation that is associated with heart attacks and strokes. Studies performed at Memorial University in St.Johns, Newfoundland found that eating a light, very low-fat breakfast was critical in modifying the morning platelet activation. Subjects in the study consumed either low-fat or fat-free yogurt, orange juice, fruit, and a source of protein coming from yogurt or fat-free milk. So if you skip breakfast, it's important that you change this practice immediately in light of this research. Develop a simple plan to eat cereal, such as oatmeal or Bran Flakes, along with six ounces of grape juice or orange juice, and perhaps a piece of fruit. This simple plan will keep your platelets from sticking together, keep blood clots from forming, and perhaps head off a potential Heart Attack or stroke. So never ever skip breakfast .

What can Singaporeans expect in 2007?

First of all a very happy new year everyone. Once again as we step into the new year, we aim to put things in perspective and get our lives back in order and promise to abide by our resolutions and the list goes on.

I hope the info that I have given below will help you in planning your year ahead.

  • Budget 2007 will be announced sometime in feb.
--details of gst rises might be revealed, together with some assistance packages to ride over the initial rise.
--employers' cpf contribution might be raised in view of NTUC's recommendations. Good news for all employees!
--More details about Workfare bonus. This arrangement might become a recurrent one. Good news again for low income workers

  • Singapore is going to take chairmanship of ASEAN.
--This means more meetings and more security around town areas. Aren't we used to this already? So put on your smiles and prepare to welcome back the delegates.
--When I say international meetings, there are really more to come this year, with ICA's General Assembly, etc
--we even have an international furniture fair this year. It will be held at Expo during the first week of march.

The fasting and the feasting

One day after deepavali and two more days to hari raya. think its the third deeparaya in a row. It is definitely more fun to celebrate two festivities together. more bazaars to shop in, more houses to visit and most importantly more hongboas!....of course I'm too old for that right now but what the hack lets join in the fun anyway....

recently there was this report about a malaysian official who warned his muslim staff against wishing the hindus deepavali greetings....whatever his reasons might be, I feel that issuing such a warning is uncalled for. especially for those like us who live in a multi cultural, multi religious society. just by wishing them does not mean that we are embracing their religion.

In this very volatile times, it is important that are tolerant of other cultures and religious beliefs. After all who are we to decide what is right and what is wrong???respecting one's beliefs does not mean that we are we are weakening in our faith!

After all, deepavali which symbolises good will eventually overcome evil is not exclusive to the hindus and strengthening your tolerance through fasting and learning how to be humble is certainly not only for the muslims. All religions stem out from the same principle. Be good, Do good. Just the form we give these beliefs differs...

So once again let me wish everyone out there a very happy deepavali and selamat hari raya.
